The
WEOF procedure writes an
end of file mark, sometimes called a
tape mark, on the designated tape unit at the current position. WEOF is available only under VMS. The tape must be mounted as a foreign volume. See

Unit
The magnetic tape unit on which the end of file mark is written. This argument must be a number between 0 and 9, and should not be confused with standard file Logical Unit Numbers (LUNs).
